Reuse, recycle, re-purpose, that’s my mantra every day, not just Earth Day. If we consume with conservation and imagination, we naturally live a greener life even when celebrations call for decorations. Slip a cardboard coaster under your glassware to protect tabletops and introduce a whimsical, environmentally friendly note. Recycle chip board from used pads of writing paper or cut cardboard from used boxes into 3 1/2-inch squares. Decorate with gusto.

Tip: A paper cutter is better than a pair of scissors to make repetitive smooth cuts. Fiskars personal trimmers are great for small projects like this.
